FAQ

1.  Do I have to be "a business" or can I advertise something as an individual? 

An Individual Listing Section is currently scheduled to be available during the second phase.  Please send us an email if you would like to be notified in advance and we will notify you. We are already testing applications scheduled to be implemented shortly.

 

2.  I'm just a very small business and would like to focus my attention pretty much in my own neighborhood.  Is there a program that I could use that doesn't cover as much area and doesn't cost as much? 

Yes, we will custom-tailor programs for individual businesses, down to your specific zip code, if you prefer. For example, let's say a business wants to run ads on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, only, every weekend for 3 months.  We can tailor the program or design something new that will fit your budget while providing you with the most advanced and cutting-edge mobile campaign on the market.

 

3.  Since I've never done any mobile advertising, are you able to assist me, at least, in getting set up the first time and offering suggestions as to how to go about starting out in this new form of advertising?

4.  I plan on using GripOffs and I really like the concept alot.  Here's my question:  I'm planning on going on a trip later this summer.  I know this might sound ridiculous, but is there was some way that I could take my mobile coupons with me? 

Actually, there is.  And, that's not a ridiculous question or request.  That's one of the reasons we created the system in the first place.  We saw a true need for a mobile eCoupon system for people on the go, plus, at the same time, cutting back on the amount of paper coupons and cataLOGs.  To answer your question, GripOffs will be providing for a change of location.  This will be done by going to the bottom of the page, clicking on Change Location, and putting in the zip code for the new location you want to see and all of the available coupons for that area.  In fact, we're expecting that people who are travelling will be able to do a much better job of planning their trips ahead of time as they are able to find the best deals in those areas along the way simply by changing locations.

 

5.  What if I get to the Point of Purchase and the cashier doesn't know about GripOffs® or won't honor the discount? 

Another good question.  Understand that this is an entirely new system, so some companies have better abilities at spreading the word throughout their organizations than do others. In any case, these things will happen, hopefully only occasionally, at the beginning of a company's campaign.  Should you encounter anything other than ease of use, please take the time to report your experience to us.  Whatever you missed out on, we will do our best to correct - Instantly.

 

6.  You mentioned a second phase.  What will that include, when is it scheduled to be available, and are there more phases scheduled after that? 

The second phase will include advancing to the automatic advertiser payment program, automatic advertiser on-line changes, point gathering system for users able to be redeemed for items of value, ability for users to pay for items at Point of Purchase, multi-language translations, and a few more exciting surprises all beginning to be rolled out.  And yes, we have additional technology ready that will be available as the market technology develops to meet ours.

 

7.  I am a potential advertiser, but I'm not convinced that I want to have my ad at the same location as all of the other advertisers.  It seems to me that I'm going to just get lost in the shuffle and I'd be better off just continuing to advertise in my normal fashion and focus on driving more people, specifically, to my own website.  My question is this:  What is so great about your program that should cause me to stop and not only think about it, but convince me to use it?

8.  Since this type of advertising is so new, how do I know it's going to work? 

Well, first of all, it's so new in the US and many other areas.  GripOffs® Instant Mobile Coupons are brand new, but in many areas such as Japan and England, text messaging offers and other codes are used to notify a mobile phone user of offers. Additionally, it's becoming more of a common practice to use your mobile phone for many more things such as paying for purchases. We're on our way there. Second, numerous tests have shown that redemption rates on paper coupons, which are lucky to reach 1%, don't come close to the more than 1% to 25%+ redemption rates on most of the mobile programs tested over the past couple of years.

 

9.  I'm not sure if or how my business could benefit from this.  I know how, if it worked, it would bring me more customers.  I'm afraid to spend any money in these times on an unproven program. 

Well, you don't raise a specific question, but do raise an interesting and important point that needs understanding.  You say, "if it worked, it would bring me more customers."  It seems that you're saying you're not sure that it will work.  If anything, you're not afraid to spend money on something that's going to work, but not convinced this is going to work.  First of all, mobile marketing in its various forms is already working.  And while GripOffs is already working, but brand new, the exciting key advantage to GripOffs over all others is that it is INSTANT; Instant ads up and available for the users and Instant Results monitored in real-time for the advertisers.  So, what you're really saying is you're not sure it will work for you.  Now what?  Well, we say Get A Grip and Give It A Try. 10.  I've seen other companies that send messages or require me to download their software to my phone and I'm scared enough to download stuff to my computer let alone my cellphone.  And, I don't want text messages coming to me all of the time.  Do you require any downloads or do you text message the users?

No downloads are required and text messages can be very intrusive. You are only going to the www.GripOffs.mobi mobile site and everything happens there. Occasionally we may send you a text message or email, but our program is not designed to constantly alert you to new offers as they will change several times a day or even an hour.
